Day 7 Ketchikan

We docked at 9.30 for a day at this remote city, which claims to be he salmon capital of the world.

Helen was feeling lousy but hey virus had broken and she was on the way to recovery. Bed rest was the best medicine so we delayed disembarking for a couple of hours.
At around 11.30 we wandered around town for 2 hours. Visited the infamous Creek Street ( brothel area for the loggers and salmon fishermen that closed in the 1970's) .

We saw salmon swimming up the creek to spawn, totem poles throughout town acknowledging the cultural beginnings of the town and 8,000 visitors off 4 cruise ships docked in the port. The region is stunning, we both agreed it would be a wonderful place come and stay a week to explore properly. Helen wanted to go lie down so it was back to the boat for a rest. I went back into town after tucking her in and sat in the Arctic Bar, sipping a beer, listening to Garth Brooks and watching the world go by.

Back on board by 5.30 and we slipped out of the harbour to begin our journey back to Vancouver.
