Day 8 Inside Passage and Vancouver

Today is an 'at sea' day. We disembark tomorrow morning for the next phase of our holiday. The weather today is lousy, rainy, foggy and windy, reminding us just how lucky we have been whilst up north. The sea is breaking whitcaps everywhere. Time relax and reflect on what we have just done. Helen is still a bit under the weather, although today she has been out and about attending classes and presentations, including one where she won the raffle and received a lovely pair of tanzanite earrings.
At 5.00 we walked around Deck 3 three times as our afternoon stroll when low and behold a pod of 6-8 Orcas swam past the ship. So close we could hear them breathe. The icing on the wildlife cake for us.
We met Dave and Sian for dinner, exchanged contact details and set plans to meet when we hit Europe next year.
I have thoroughly enjoyed coming back to see Alaska. It is an amazingly beautiful large natural wilderness landscape that is a treasure of the earth. The people that live up here all year round are hardy, no doubt. It's unlikely we will be back up here, but I am lucky to have seen it at all, let alone twice.
Onward.
